Panetta Construction Company was founded in 1993 by John Panetta, a lifelong builder with construction in his blood. John got his start as a teenager, helping his father renovate and sell residential homes — an experience that set the course for the rest of his career. "I always knew I wanted to do something in the building industry when I got older," John says.

John went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction Management from Michigan State University. After graduating, he worked as a supervisor for Ryan Homes in Baltimore, Maryland, and Fairway Construction in Southfield, Michigan, gaining hands-on experience in large-scale residential construction.

In 1991, John earned his State of Michigan Builder's License, and two years later, in 1993, he opened the doors of Panetta Construction Company. Since then, he has also earned a State of Michigan Real Estate Sales License and serves as a member of the Utica Downtown Development Authority (DDA).
